The wedding of an old money Chicago family (who may be connected to the mob by marriage) and a nouveau riche family from the south. Dino, the groom has slept with both his bride, Muffin, and her now pregnant sister, Buffy, who appears either mute, passive-aggressive, or highly manipulative as her father's favorite. The groom's grandmother, Nettie, who has controlled his side of the family for decades, lies dying as they return to the house for the reception. There the groom's uncle makes a pass at the bride's mother, and the family friend on retainer is a "Dr. Feelgood" available to administer whatever drugs the mother of the groom, or anyone else, needs. The narcissistic, previous lovers of both the bride and groom make their "accidential" entrances and the chaos doesn't stop until everyone has had their chance to sling or fling. As the two sets of in-laws collide, a tornado threatens to destroy the garden wedding, forcing everyone to take cover and party in the mansion's basement.
