Thirty-year-old Jeff -- a man who is weight challenged, addicted to pot and unemployed -- lives in the basement of his widowed mother's home watching the same film over and over as he searches for the meaning of life. Meanwhile, his brother, apparently successfully employed and married, is trying to pretend he doesn't have serious marital problems, and their mother is trying to make it through each day without losing her job. Jeff finally leaves the house to follow the signs that will pull them back together.
