Painfully shy "LV" or "Little Voice," is a recluse who listens closely to her late father's old albums in her room to deny the reality of her lonely life with her abusive, alcoholic mother, Mari Hoff, at their crude home in the dead end of England. At night, when her mother's at the pub, LV sings the songs on the albums herself with her own strong voice, perfectly mimicking the vocals of Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe, Edith Piaf, Marlene Deitrich, Shirley Bassey, Ella Fitzgerald and many others. One night, she's overheard by a man her mother brings home, a washed up talent scout called Ray Say. He immediately recognizes her tremendous talent and decides promoting LV is his last chance make it. He gambles all his money to prepare LV to sing at a seedy local night club run by Mr. Boo. In the meantime, LV meets Billy, a telephone engineer, who races pigeons, and they form a close friendship. Then, the big night arrives and everyone is ready and waiting at the club, including a well known talent scout from London. How will LV handle her big night?
